影片取材于京剧名段《挡马》，讲述了杨业（吴樾饰）战死幽州后，皇上御赐给杨家的九环金锋定宋宝刀落入辽邦，杨八姐（张新童饰）与杨九妹（刘欣蕾饰）悲愤之下前往辽国夺回宝刀，返程途中遇见流落异乡的宋将焦光普（松天硕饰），双方不打不相识，后携手护送宝刀返回故土的故事。。A sniper returns home from Afghanistan to his small Northern town. Confronted with the mundane reality of everyday life he longs for the release provided by shooting. Slowly his need for regimented military discipline takes over leading to violent confrontation.。
